We are currently looking for a Network Engineer.The Network Engineer will be capable of providing technical support to maintain the LAN and ensure that the LAN and its various hardware and software components remain operational and available for use. The Contractor will be available for operations, maintenance, network administration, and trouble resolution relating to all network hardware and software as requested. The Contractor will be given work assignments to perform special projects relevant to the network. The Contractor will evaluate and recommend new technology to ensure that the network remains state-of-the-art throughout the life of the contract.The Network Engineer will provide recommendations to HRSA with regard to new products as well as upgraded versions of existing products. Some of the products include but are not limited to:Remote access productsNetwork security products including firewalls, intrusion detection, and monitoring softwareNetwork management softwareNetwork Documentation softwareStreaming Video ProductsOperating System softwareThe Network Engineer, as requested, will perform the following activities including but not limited to:Install servers, network printers, and other hardware devices associated with the networtk. Install and test all network operating system software and associated upgrades.Monitor the status and analyze performance of network components ensuring that they are operational during prime user hours. Isolate problems, determine the source, and remediate. Manage and monitor the tape backup system and periodically test the backup system by performing scheduled system restores.Manage and monitor Enterprise antivirus application for serversProvide for the operation, maintenance, network engineering, administration, and trouble resolution of all network printers, file servers, communications servers, gateways and any other current or future network components or systems.Answer questions and troubleshoot problems with the systems, install software upgrades, install expansion packages and new utilities, and recover from system failures.Maintain and tune systems for optimum performance.Evaluate and test new products and capabilities for possible implementation.
