(EASI), a minority Government contractor partnered with NASA in the success of ongoing Shuttle, International Space Station and future Moon and Mars missions, has an opportunity for a skilled and motivated contributor.  At Easi, we are doing what others dream of – enabling safe human exploration of space.  We are seeking a Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Technician in the Baseline Operational Readiness (BOR) Group supporting the Bioastronautics Contract at NASA JSC.   The primary responsibility for this position shall be to perform maintenance and repair activities for general and advanced laboratory equipment, and performance of equipment calibration as required.  The incumbent will additionally develop instrument maintenance schedules, per manufacturer’s guidelines and in conjunction with laboratory personnel and will coordinate equipment calibration activities with the JSC Calibration Laboratory and external vendors as appropriate.   RequirementsEducation/Training/Experience: Associates or technical degree in electronics, engineering, or other applicable technical field, or 2 years equivalent experience. Prior experience with laboratory equipment/instrumentation maintenance and calibration, safety & health requirements, and a general knowledge of laboratory operations. Responsible for diagnosing and repairing general use and specialized laboratory equipment. Responsible for conducting routine maintenance and calibration of designated equipment. Document procedures and QC methods in conformance with ISO-9000 requirements. Obtain and maintain Certified Pool Operator certification. Track and complete assigned work orders. Complete projects in a timely manner with acceptable results. Work with facility leads and BOR office personnel to assure proper operation of equipment. Good skills in the use of computers and software (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Demonstrated skills in organizing and managing multiple simultaneous activities. Demonstrated ability to work independently.  Ability to work with technical personnel and personnel at multiple management levels. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment with changing priorities. Hands on repair experience for MS, GC/MS, LC/MS, LC, GC, MSD, incubators, blood gas analyzers, bio-safety cabinets, flow cytometers, centrifuges, refrigerators, ultra-low freezers and other laboratory equipment highly desirable. This position requires the ability to obtain a NASA badge.  Obtaining a NASA badge requires U.S. Citizenship status. This position carries a NASA Security Position Risk Designation of Moderate and requires the successful completion of an extensive background investigation by the Office of Homeland Security.   Salary will be based on skills and experience.
