Manager, Strategy, Portfolio Planning, and New Business Development

Description

Researches market conditions and provides analyses in the areas of market size and potential, industry trends, competitive environment, and internal PI franchise objectives in support of PI/VS global strategy development

Coordinates with Finance R&D analyst and PI/VS Franchise leaders to complete strategic analysis of PI projects, including assigning appropriate metrics to projects for evaluation and prioritization

Prepare market analyses for the evaluation of new business development opportunities. Work with marketing colleagues and R&D to evaluate internal cost and development implications of NBD opportunities. Support development of recommendations.

Support preparation and presentation of updates to the PIMB, Senior management and franchise leaders

Responsibilities

Lead analytical component of divisional strategy development;

Work with marketing colleagues to complete current market analyses

Identify market trends and growth opportunities for PI/VS business

Characterize and predict likely competitive dynamics in market

Work with finance colleagues to complete internal analysis and drive to strategy recommendations.

Support PI/VS portfolio process

Assist franchise leaders in populating frameworks to facilitate project comparisons

Work with finance and marketing to accurately represent projects and opportunities in portfolio reviews

Support Director in preparation of Portfolio Management meetings

Research, identify and evaluate new business opportunities (markets, offerings, models, technology platforms) in cooperation with other functions, including research of candidate companies within market segments of interest

Support formulation of new business development recommendations:

Complete opportunity analysis

Deliver rationale for “go/no-go” decision

Work with internal BSC groups (Hybrid Partnerships, Alliances) on due diligence efforts

Coordinate efforts with product management and international marketing to ensure global consistency in the PI Division for strategy, portfolio, and NBD

Effectively coordinate and work with NBD analyst for CV group

Work with Corporate Marketing Science and Finance on special projects and updates for senior management

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years solid work experience in pharmaceutical, medical device marketing, or management consulting with a concentration in market analysis that includes the following:

Extracting, manipulating and analyzing data from standard industry databases (such as IMS)

General characterization and analysis of market opportunities

Communicating results to internal customers

Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work as an integral part of cross-functional teams.

Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred

Technical Skills & Proficiency

Versed in the dynamics of the pharmaceutical and/or device markets.

Fully proficient in software applications such as Excel, Word, and Powerpoint

Ability to understand strategic goals and match them to the business goals of the company

Knows how a product is adopted in a health care environment. Has identified barriers to adoption and entry and has successfully created sound marketing strategies.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Ability to conduct scenario analysis and evaluate impact on BSC

Excellent project management skills

Strong presentation skills

Creates solid relationships across an organization and broadens those relationships over time.

Market Day has several part-time driving opportunities available in the Indianapolis area. Drivers work 15 to 30 hours per week, afternoon/evening hours over 3 to 5 work days. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the safe and timely delivery of products to local schools and unloading at the sale site. Must be available to report to work by 2pm at least 3-days per week. Some runs will require you to work until 8:30pm or later.

Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a professional friendly personality, clean driving record & possess a valid driver s license. A Chauffeur’s license is required at time of hire. CDL’s are a definite plus! We hire Non-CDL drivers and are willing to train the right people. All vehicles have automatic transmission. Chauffeur Drivers make $11/hour, CDL Drivers make $12/hour. There is a $2/hour premium for all CDL A runs. We are a drug free workplace. To ensure the safety of our drivers and communities and to comply with DOT regulations, we conduct random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol tests. Coordinate margin-generating activities across various Voice cross-functional teams: Sales, Marketing, Buying, Pricing & Operations. Employee has broad view and wide sphere of influence to identify opportunities for, and eliminate barriers to, achieving business growth.

Identify barriers & risks to realizing full net revenue potential within focus region. Propose recommended solutions to remove barriers and mitigate risks.

Manage demand to appropriate competitive capacity on destination basis. Maximize capacity utilization for greatest net revenue return.
