Core Job Description / ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility of this position is the day-to-day support of our client’s machining operations areas by troubleshooting issues and proposing and implementing solutions.
Candidate will need at least four years experience related to lathes and turning process troubleshooting.
Must be able to work 10 hours per week of overtime.
Fundamental Responsibilities: Process related troubleshooting and issue resolution.Set up and change over improvement.
Downtime reductionThru-put improvement on bottlenecks.
Scrap reduction Tooling modification recommendation and implementationTraining of Operations Technicians on process modifications or as a result of troubleshooting.
Support teams as needed moving assets from another facility to Palmetto Skills/Experience/Special Qualifications Functional / Technical4+ years experience in Turning process design, improvement and troubleshooting is a must.
Demonstrated use of troubleshooting tools (7-step, 8-D, Six Sigma) is a must.
Experience in process documentation and training others is a must.
Experience in change-over and setup improvement in turning, is preferred.
Experience in Grinding process design, improvement, and troubleshooting, is preferred.
Experience in automotive environment or Lean environment, is preferred.
Experience on component balancing is a significant plus.
Quality / ImprovementStrong experience with shop floor gauging use and care is a must.
Experience in leading and support FMEAs and prevention based planning tools is preferred.Six Sigma training is a strong bonus.
Teamwork Experience working cross functionally with all levels of the organizationExperience managing multiple priorities with a data driven approach and communicating and coordinating work with other functions.
Ability to lead others in a fast paced manufacturing environment StandardsBSME, with 4+ years of applied experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
For applicant without and engineering degree – 10+ years of applied experience required.
