Job Description

This individual will provide online learning expertise and hands-on abilities for Market Education Department. Team with director and staff in partnership with core marketing groups, other departments/divisions and other partner organizations to advise on and develop instructionally sound, unique programs/learning materials which clearly make CME leader in online education. Help codify the design process of online programs (webcasts, podcasts and emerging online technologies) from initial scoping to final evaluation and help evaluate, choose and direct outside vendors as required. Input on design standards for all learning materials and gatekeeping to ensure that standards in content and overall branding are in line. Scanning of innovative online techniques on an ongoing basis. Able to supervise/direct others to assure work product is coordinated. Requirements

Proven track record of creating solid, marketing-oriented online educational programs – classes, tutorials, webinars, podcasts — aimed at diverse financial audiences. Able to innovate and effectively translate strategy for projects into strong educational deliverables. Significant experience in working with content owners to scope, design, develop and evaluate a variety of educational initiatives. Strong project management skills. Works under minimal supervision publicizing high-level books and authors as well as mid-list breakout titles:

Secures interviews and reviews in national broadcast and print media.

Briefs authors on how to handle interviews.

Develops media contacts.

Creates press releases, pitch letters and other promotional materials.

Schedules author/illustrator appearances and tours.

Plans and executes all publicity activities on assigned titles from the mailing of galleys and the developing of proper angles and pitches to the scheduling of bookstore appearances and special events.

Works closely with senior executives in marketing, editorial and sales.

Works closely with the Associate Director in overseeing departmental operations-a strong focus on the maintenance and updating of databases for reviewers and media contacts.

Works with Associate Director on fall trade shows and/or awards.

Must possess prior work experience in publicity, with an emphasis placed on booking and scheduling author tours. Knowledge of the media and a familiarity with book review and magazine editors. College-level understanding and use of the English language. Must have attention to detail, be self-motivated, well organized, and an excellent communicator. Must possess college degree or equivalent work experience.
