Description
As the Facilities Power Distribution Engineer at Micron, you will provide engineering for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of site-wide systems, including electrical systems, substation, primary power distribution, building power, lighting, UPS, and generators. Incorporating good design practice, you will engineer state-of-the-art system designs, system capacity and capability analysis, planning for future requirements, and code compliance. Your responsibilities will include working in a team effort with other engineering disciplines to provide detailed designs and specifications for the installation of new capital equipment and systems. You will work as an engineer as well as a supervisor and coordinator for outside consultant resources. You can expect to provide support for cost estimates and the analysis of proposed projects. Additionally, you will provide support for the startup of new equipment, while ensuring that all equipment will properly interface with other mechanical and electrical systems. In this role, you will also provide engineering support for facilities operations and maintenance. While providing engineering, you will also review facilities work orders and provide support to operating personnel. In this position, you will also be responsible for maintaining various administrative and engineering databases in support of job tracking, engineering data, capital equipment facilitation, and critical system loads and capacities. While specifying critical components for design projects, you will be responsible for assuring that designs meet all applicable codes and regulations by continually reviewing and analyzing new and existing equipment, applications, and technology. You can also expect to generate basic drawings using AutoCAD. You will also provide code review and analysis utilizing NFPA, FM, UBC, NEC, and more. Your responsibilities will also include performing research and development on emerging facilities technologies to support cutting edge semiconductor processes, as well as participating in mid- to long-term infrastructure planning for facilities in support of the overall company plan. Your work will be done in accordance with all company safety guidelines, of which you will maintain a high level of awareness as you engineer safety into all designs. In this role, you will maintain good communication within the Electrical Engineering organization, with other engineering disciplines, and with all customers throughout the organization.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with occasional overtime as approved by departmental manager.   Responsibilities: Calendar ManagementPreparation of VP's expense reportsGeneral assistance in creating memos, write-ups, org charts and other presentations.Booking and Scheduling of Business travel & visa applicationsProcessing of department invoicesProcess approved equipment orders using departmental Purchasing Cards  or ITAM systemFiling monthly Captura reports for p-card purchases Assist staff with applicatons for Company Credit cardOrder Hardware using S&P requsition systems (eg printers, computer equipment, phones, headsets, PDAs)Assist New hires and consultants with onboarding process (eg obtaining security badges, photo IDs, seating assignments)Order and maintain office suppliesVacation coverage for other Department Administrative Assistants with equivalent duties. The above description covers the most significant duties required but does not exclude other occasional work assignments, the inclusion of which would be in conformity with the General Purpose above.   Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook; experience scheduling meetings, conference calls, etc.Must have excellent time management, activity prioritization, and great oral & written communication.Experience coordinating general office work-flow activitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExperience working with confidential information     This is a guild represented position.
